We are looking for a committed and compassionate Band 5 Nurse to work within our multidisciplinary substance use service, delivering evidence-based clinical care, harm reduction interventions, and support for individuals with complex health and social needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative and high performing criminal justice substance misuse service within the City of Nottingham. Clean Slate & Nottingham Recovery Network prides itself on good practice and innovation regarding substance misuse treatment interventions for service users/patients involved in the Criminal Justice System Treatment Pathway.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments for people who use substances.
- Support the delivery of medically assisted treatment (e.g., opiate substitution therapy).
- Carry out physical health checks, BBV testing (Hepatitis B/C, HIV), and vaccinations.
- Provide health education, wound care, and harm reduction advice (e.g., naloxone training).
- Collaborate closely with recovery workers, prescribers, GPs, mental health teams, and safeguarding partners.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to care planning and risk assessments.
What Were Looking For
- Registered Nurse (Adult / Mental Health) with a current NMC registration.
- Experience or interest in working with people affected by substance use, mental health, or complex social needs.
- A compassionate, non-judgmental approach and commitment to harm reduction principles.
- Strong team-working and communication skills.
