Senior Finance Manager

JOB PURPOSE:

Oversees and controls day-to-day financial activities ensuring accuracy and timeliness of quality financial reporting which meets the reporting and governance requirements in a plc environment. Manages accounts payable and accounts team members, empowering their personal growth, whilst ensuring they deliver on the company\’s financial and non-financial goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to identify, manage, and mitigate risk
  • Responsible for the day-to-day financial activities and transaction processing, identifying and driving opportunities for improvement
  • Responsible for completion and review of month-end reconciliations and escalation where required
  • Ensures processes are in place to safeguard operational and financial risk curating a strong control environment and appropriate risk management in line with Board and regulatory expectation
  • Prepare group consolidation, and complete month-end and year-end journals
  • Lead the drafting of year-end statutory accounts, coordination of year-end audit, and completion of statutory and regulatory returns.
  • Identify implications and apply new technical accounting and reporting requirements for H&T. Plan implementation and ensure that financial reporting is aligned to H&T&s growth strategy
  • Empower and advocate personal development for direct reports, acting as a change leader through transformational improvement projects
  • Deputise for Head of Finance as required
  • Support ad hoc tactical and strategic improvement projects driving the future capability of the Finance team as a whole.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

ACA/ACCA/CIMA
5+ years PQE
Strong technical background in financial reporting and controls, with knowledge of core accounting principles, current best practice and latest accounting standards.
Financial reporting and statutory accounts experience
Multi-faceted role requires prioritisation, accuracy, strong time management.
Experience of reporting to senior management and managing and developing team members.
Excel highly proficient
Enthusiastic team player
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

Financial services experience and experience of accounting under IFRS 9
Plc reporting experience
Finance system implementation experience
