Quality Engineer

Contek are working with an established, long standing and growing company based in Redditch who are looking for an ambitious Quality Engineer to take their next step into a Senior Quality Engineer role.
This company are a leading manufacturer within the UK with an international client base. This position will require you to be a knowledgeable and confident engineer who is capable of dealing with internal, customer and supplier Quality issues and certification.
This role will suit a highly motivated, hands-on candidate whos experience will come from an Engineering or Manufacturing environment. You will have a strong focus on Cost Saving and the Continuous Improvement of Quality across the site.
You will be working closely with the Quality Manager, where you will take more responsibility over time, this position is ideal for somebody who wants progression to take a hold of a quality department where you will eventually become the Head of Quality.

Responsibilities:
- Ensuring compliance for all aspects of BMS.
- Dealing with; returns, rejects, and warranties as the first point of contact for customers and suppliers.
- Producing high quality NCR / 8Ds reports in response to customer returns and/or warranties.
- Ensuring that manufacturing and related processes comply with the BMS ISO 9001 standards.
- Conducting internal and external audits.
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure that the Companys material requirements are met in full.
- Determining and implementing in-house; quality procedures, standards and/or specifications.
- Driving quality objectives to improve Company efficiency and profitability.
- Providing support to the Commercial, Engineering and Purchasing departments.
- Improving and maintaining standards for health, safety and environment in accordance with BMS.
- Recording, analysing and distributing Quality Assurance statistical information.
Skills & Qualifications
- QA background within Manufacturing / Engineering.
- Ability to read complex engineering drawings.
- Experience with PED (The Pressure Equipment Directive) would be an advantage but not essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A high level of computer literacy.
- Knowledge and experience of working managing quality management systems to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Experienced in the preparation of I.S.I.R. and P.P.A.P. documentation.
- Experience in the use of measuring equipment, Faro arms, CMMs.
