IT Support Specialist – Unified Communications Telecoms
Location: Hybrid Alderley | Salary £28,000 £35,000 DOE
Are you a technically minded IT specialist working within Unified Communications with a passion for seamless communication and connectivity? My client is looking for several experienced Unified Communications Specialist to join their IT team and help the delivery, support, and optimisation of their communication systems. If you enjoy working with cutting-edge UC tools and making a real impact across the business, this role could be a great fit for you!
Working as part of the UC Support Specialist Team based, youll work to support business customers, taking ownership of tasks and dealing with queries efficiently.
They are looking for a Unified Communications / Telecoms Specialist that has previous experience and knowledge of:
1st and 2nd line technical support, assisting customers with problem resolution
Technical aspects of telecommunications/connectivity, ideally in a business-to-business support role
Manage and support enterprise-level UC solutions, including VoIP telephony, managed Wi-Fi, and connectivity platforms.
Configure and troubleshoot systems such as PBX, SBCs, and cloud-based UC tools.
Liaise with third-party vendors and telecom providers for provisioning, upgrades, and maintenance.
Monitor system performance, proactively identify improvements, and implement solutions.
Provide technical support and training to end-users across the organisation.
What They are Looking For
- Proven experience in Unified Communications, Telecoms, or a similar technical support role.
- Strong knowledge of VoIP technologies (SIP, RTP), telephony platforms (e.g. Cisco, Mitel, Avaya).
- Hands-on experience with PBX systems, gateways, and SBCs.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: QoS, VLANs, firewalls.
- Confident communicator with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Teams telephony integration
- Understanding of ITIL processes and service desk operations
