Location: Barrow-in-Furness

Hourly Rate: £44.00 PAYE, £59.33 Umbrella

Working Arrangements: 2/3 days on-site per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of solutions to technical issues as a member of an integrated project team, reporting to Technical Leads and directly to the customer.
  • Developing design solutions based on customer or internally derived requirements, validating, and verifying through the design process.
  • Review and check design work and technical reports, providing help and direction to less experienced engineers.
  • Carrying out technical analysis and investigations, and preparing reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • The candidate will have ideally been educated to degree level or equivalent in a mechanical engineering discipline with at least 3 years postgraduate experience within an engineering environment, or to HNC level with 5 years relevant experience.
  • Working experience using CAD software (ideally PTC Creo Parametrics).
  • Previous production, manufacturing and assembly experience.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawing standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Working knowledge of technical office processes, standards and standard instructions (i.e. Business Management System (BMS) and the Life Cycle Model (LCM)).
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Presentation / report writing skills.
