Job Title: Data Business Analyst
Location: York – Twice a week
Day Rate: £425 – £450
Employment Type: Contract – 12-month initial
About the Role
SPG is assisting one of our clients in the Insurance sector find a Data Business analyst who is technically minded and be an integral part of their Data team to work with the wider business and technology estate and all elements of Data across the business to understand the requirements for sourcing and transforming data assets.
You’ll work closely with the Product Owner and Data Engineering Manager to identify the need and then work with system owners, business data consumers and the wider community to capture the level of detail required and implement data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding on-going & incoming requirements into the Data Team, elaboration & triaging for prioritisation.
- Business analysis support for the development of the data platform.
- Ongoing support for the Data Engineering team squad, with contribution to & facilitation support around typical product agile practices.
- Planning Business Analysis activities and collaborating with Product Owners on these plans.
- Identifying & following through the necessary supporting changes across people, process & technology alongside the core data business analyst requirements.
- Creating & or updating as necessary information repositories of process & other analysis collateral as part of the value stream knowledge bases to maintain product integrity.
Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of Business Analysis delivery in agile work environments
- Experience of BA support to data platform or data pipeline development
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead analysis activities with cross-functional business and technical teams.
- Fluent in English
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of Azure, Databricks data platforms, and Power BI data presentation
- Hands-on experience in the Insurance Sector or Financial Services.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with rapidly evolving targets; multitasking effectively, (re)prioritize and switch focus with efficiency.
- Ability to work well under pressure and achieve results within the scheduled time-frame.
- Able to navigate ambiguous situations, identify and solve blockers with minimal guidance, know how to build cross-organizational partnership.
