Weβre recruiting on behalf of a respected healthcare provider seeking an Interim Head of Healthcare to lead services within a Category B male prison in the East Midlands. This 6 to 8-month opportunity offers an exciting and impactful role supporting & transforming the delivery of high-quality healthcare in a secure environment.
You will oversee a well-established, multi-disciplinary team working across Primary Care, Mental Health, Substance Misuse, and external partnerships, ensuring service continuity, safety, and compliance with NHS England standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide operational leadership to the onsite healthcare team.
- Ensure service delivery aligns with NHS England requirements and internal performance targets.
- Maintain oversight of clinical governance, safeguarding, and CQC compliance.
- Collaborate with prison leadership, commissioners, and regional managers to maintain high service standards.
- Support and motivate staff through change, ensuring continuity and quality of care throughout the contract period.
- 4 Years+ as Head of Healthcare or equivalent in a prison environment.
- Turnaround experience in the same or similar secure environments.
- Strong understanding of prison healthcare dynamics, though prison experience is not essential.
- Experience managing budgets, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholder relationships.
