Amery Veterinary Group in Bordon is offering a great opportunity for an experienced small animal Vet to join our close-knit and supportive team. Our vets primarily work at one of our two larger sites but spend some time at a second branch, allowing you the opportunity to work-up your cases and create a bonded relationship with clients while still having a varied caseload.

We welcome both full or part-time applicants. Typically, the hours for this role are 40 hours over 4 days per week, Monday to Friday, plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings. We encourage our staff to have a good work-life balance and are happy to discuss flexibility around the working days/hours. There are no out-of-hours associated with this role; however, we occasionally look after our own in-patients. Clinicians are responsible for in-patient treatment checks, which are optional and paid for.

We are a well-established, 100% small animal RCVS accredited practice located next to the beautiful South Downs National Park and less than 1 hour from the coast. There is easy access to London via train, and all our sites are within an hour's drive of Gatwick and Heathrow airports. We have three surgeries serving the communities around Alton, Bordon, and Grayshott, continually striving for excellence in management, medicine, surgery, and diagnostics.

Both our Alton and Bordon clinics are well equipped for surgical work, case work-ups, and hospitalisation of patients. The facilities include:

  • Separate cat and dog wards
  • Excellent ultrasound equipment including cardiac probes
  • Idexx VetLab stations for same-day haematology, biochemistry, and electrolytes
  • Digital radiography
  • High-speed dental handpieces and digital dental radiography at Bordon
  • Dedicated theatres for surgical work

Grayshott is our smallest clinic, based in the centre of a picturesque village, currently only offering consultations.

Working in a Vet practice is a significant part of our lives, and we want to enjoy coming to work and feel appreciated by colleagues and clients. We have a supportive and committed team of 1 Clinical Director, 6 Vets, 4 RVNs, 2 SVNs, and 7 Receptionists in our 3 well-equipped surgeries on the Hampshire/Surrey border. We also have a visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon for more challenging surgical cases.

Our Clinical Director, Annedine, joined us from South Africa as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2010, progressing to CD in 2023. She has a strong interest in Veterinary Medicine and is super supportive of the whole team. We offer a vibrant workplace where you will be joining an enthusiastic and motivated team. Amery is a place where you will feel supported, encouraged, and challenged.

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business, and investing in our staff is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from:

  • Work-life balance: 6.6 weeks annual leave, increasing holiday allowance based on length of service, your birthday as a paid day off
  • Wellbeing: Private medical insurance, enhanced family-friendly policies, including maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental and surrogacy pay, cycle to work scheme, initiatives focused on employee wellbeing, non-accidental injury support
  • Development: £1,250 CPD allowance with 5 days paid pro rata, certificate support, learning and development opportunities via the IVC Evidensia Academy, access to Vetlexicon, research funding for all Vets & Nurses, £1000 per annum to spend via our Care Fund, Quality Improvement Programme
  • Professional Memberships: BVA membership, VDS cover, RCVS fees
