We’re working with a fast-growing tech scale-up transforming the HealthTech sector through data-driven innovation and cutting-edge cloud technology. They are looking for a strategic and hands-on Director of Platform & Infrastructure to lead their cloud architecture and DevOps function. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the foundation on which their engineering teams build and scale products. As part of the senior engineering leadership team, you’ll drive the roadmap for infrastructure, improve platform reliability and developer velocity, and ensure they are building in a secure, cost-efficient, and scalable way.
The Role
- Lead the design and evolution of cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Own DevOps and platform engineering strategy - from CI/CD pipelines to observability and incident response.
- Partner with security, engineering, and product teams to ensure infrastructure meets compliance, governance, and operational standards.
- Drive cloud cost optimisation and resource planning as the business scales globally.
- Grow and mentor a team of platform engineers, SREs, and DevOps specialists.
- Evaluate and implement tooling and best practices that enhance developer experience and operational efficiency.
- Be a key voice in architectural decisions, tech strategy, and vendor selection.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading infrastructure/platform teams in a high-growth, cloud-native environment.
- Deep expertise with AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation/CDK, etc).
- Strong understanding of DevOps, SRE, and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
- Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI, ArgoCD) and observability stacks (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Strong grasp of cloud security, compliance, and disaster recovery best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills - you can operate strategically while staying close to the tech.
