Are you a passionate infrastructure Middleware Support engineer ready to make an impact in the fast-paced financial industry? Our client is looking for a talented individual to join their dynamic team, where you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, maintenance and testing of a state-of-the-art Equities position keeping system.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Experienced in Java, Strong Unix, Messaging services, Message replication, high-volume messaging, and scaling experience
  • Experience with messaging services such as TIBCO RV/EMS, JMS, AMPS, and Apache Kafka is essential
  • Proven experience in Unix, multi-threaded, large scale, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Experienced in infrastructure Middleware Transports / infrastructure Middleware Support is essential
  • Proficient in SQL queries and familiar with the Agile framework, including JIRA and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with front-end tools like Java AWT and Google Web Toolkit.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and Java garbage collection.
  • Can demonstrate ability to work in a multi-faceted role (development, testing, support analysis, release co-ordination)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and integrity; a true team player.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve queries independently while knowing when to ask for help.
  • Experience in the financial industry is a plus, but a strong eagerness to learn is just as valuable!

What You'll Do:

  • Implement new functionalities in a distributed, high-volume, low-latency, multi-threaded event processing platform using core Java technologies within a Linux/Unix environment.
  • Engage in all aspects of the development lifecycle: from requirements discussions and development to testing, release, and support queries.
  • Collaborate with a global team that spans APAC, EMEA, and AMRS, providing support during trading hours and working closely with the application owner on business discussions.
  • Conduct thorough testing of changes and investigate discrepancies as part of the release process.
  • Take ownership of your work while also knowing when to seek assistance from your team.
