About the role:

  • Acting as Management Accountant, reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with the Finance Business Partner.
  • Responsibility for the GB Materials Balance Sheet with specific focus on Land and property balances.
  • Support on delivery of month end / year end timetable for a subset of the business.
  • To ensure financial deadlines are met in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Line manager to Assistant Management Accountants to support with their work and personal development.
  • Responsibility for the completion of month end, ensuring that all property processes, accounting and journals are completed on an accurate and timely basis.
  • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and review those prepared by the Assistant Management Accountants relating to property.
  • Support for any additional year end submissions to Group Finance and Tax teams.
  • Support information requests from the external auditors on key technical subjects, including restoration provisions and impairment of assets.
  • Provide support to the preparation of Forecast and Budget for the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
  • Provide support to Continuous Improvement initiatives.

About you:

  • You will be a fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) accountant with a sound technical finance grounding.
  • FRS16 experience would be ideal however is not essential as preferred candidates for this role are individuals who can demonstrate an appetite to learn and develop themselves within the business.
  • Prior line management experience is not essential however would be desirable.
