Our client, a well-established, hugely successful and growing manufacturing company based in Thetford, are currently seeking a Production Planner to join their team. This is a full time, permanent position, based in Thetford.

Job Specification
- Working closely with both the Production Manager and Slidebed Planner/Controller together with the manufacturing supervisors (heavies) to ensure the timely and efficient production of heavy range of products.
- Seeing heavy builds through their entire production start to finish.
- Generating production orders for in house manufactured items.
- Attending the monthly production meetings commenting on material availability and project progress & issues and producing the production meeting minutes by the end of the week in which the meeting was held.
- Working closely with the Stores personnel to ensure timely delivery of kits for all production departments.
- Liaise with Purchasing to ensure the collection of subcon items for further processing is done in a timely manner.
- Responsible for Fab shop scheduling of ALL products, assessing requirements for overtime and liaising with the Production Manager to effect starting and stopping it; and monitoring target vs actual production times.
- Provide weekly fabrication plan and review resources vs demand.
- Working with the IT Manager to further develop LN for planning purposes.
- Working with the Production Manager & Slidebed Planner assessing priorities with respect to production resources and sub-contractors.
- Generally working with the various production departments tackling any material supply problems they encounter; researching the issue and ensuring it is resolved properly for the future.
- Assisting the Production Manager with all production planning associated tasks as required.
- Ensure production orders for outputs each month are completed and closed in a timely fashion with thorough reviews being carried out so as to minimise Material variances on each project as well as monthly reviews of created, printed, released and active orders to ensure the data is clean and up to date.
About the role:
Production is the very heart of the business and planning & controlling every aspect from raw material movement to generating profiles and small assemblies for stock to ensuring there is enough labour at the right time to achieve outputs. The person in this role will have their finger on the pulse of heavy production knowing where material & fabrications are and the status of each job; totally focusing on the prompt and accurate supply of material and labour including pushing things to sub-contracting if need be.
