Are you a proactive and driven IT professional looking to further your Field Engineer career? We are working with a growing MSP known for its fast, reliable, and personable IT support across the UK, 24/7, 365 days a year.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong service desk background who has already spent at least 1 year in a Field Engineer position. You will be someone who takes initiative, solves problems independently, and thrives in a hands-on, customer-facing environment.
What your week could look like:
- Day visits to one or multiple customer sites
- Business-as-usual (BAU) service desk support
- Occasional overnight stays depending on site location and project work
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out IT and WiFi installations at client sites
- Pre-configuring hardware/software and assisting with implementation of IT, network, and WiFi solutions
- Conducting wireless surveys using modern tools and software
- Providing remote and telephone-based IT support (Microsoft 365, WiFi, connectivity issues, etc.)
- Managing and resolving support tickets efficiently, escalating when necessary
- Keeping documentation and project records up to date
- Collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure excellent client service
Key Requirements:
- At least 1 year of field-based IT support experience
- Full UK Driving License
- Previous experience on a service desk, ideally within an MSP environment
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, and Active Directory
- Experience with Windows Server (DC, DNS, DHCP, GPO)
- Exposure to WiFi technologies such as Cisco, Ruckus (Aruba a bonus)
- CCNA certified or equivalent working knowledge of networking up to CCNA level
- Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with end users on-site and remotely
- A can-do attitude, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently
Desired (but not essential):
- Exposure to telecoms/PBX systems (e.g. Mitel, NEC, Gamma Horizon, 3CX)
- Understanding of connectivity types like ISDN, PSTN, SIP, and analogue voice
- Certifications like MCP, MCSA, or Cisco ICND1 are beneficial but not required.
