Our cinema manager supports the overall performance of the cinema and helps to make our cinema the first choice for customers within their local market. A key focus will be on creating, developing, and managing a high-performing team. Using positive coaching and leadership skills to engage a team of various sizes to help deliver positive results and drive a profitable cinema. You’ll work closely with senior management and will be accountable for ensuring your cinema and team are equipped to support customer demand and enhance the overall customer experience. You’ll need good business acumen, positivity, and enthusiasm to lead your team to success.
What Will I Be Doing?
- Create and embed a positive working culture and lead by example to deliver a positive customer experience and promote an environment that values diversity and inclusion.
- Implement the cinema’s business plan, objectives, and KPIs for team members to deliver, with regular reviews and updates on performance to the team and business.
- Identify opportunities in film schedules to maximize cinema performance against targets, taking appropriate actions to generate positive results.
- Monitor customer attendance forecast figures and ensure staff hours are flexed and managed accordingly.
- Regularly liaise with the content team to ensure all is delivered on time, in working order, and scheduled correctly in screening rooms.
- Manage, coach, and support the cinema team, providing regular feedback to help them meet KPIs and business objectives.
- Recognize high performers and proactively support their career development and progression.
- Communicate incentive plans to the team, providing regular updates to motivate and engage them in achieving business goals.
- Conduct performance reviews, including probationary reviews, focusing on objectives, strengths, and development areas.
- Manage underperforming team members through regular monitoring and reviews.
- Support training sessions, workshops, and upskilling initiatives to enhance team capabilities and ensure compliance with policies like GDPR, health and safety, etc.
- Source, interview, and recruit new team members when necessary.
- Manage staff costs and budgeting against trade forecasts, inputting staff hours into payroll systems.
- Support site maintenance logs, ensuring quick responses to issues to avoid performance impacts.
- Manage compliance tasks such as fire safety, health & safety, stock replenishment, audits, staff rosters, and cleanliness.
- Delegate tasks clearly to promote team development and productivity.
- Attend training workshops and courses to continually develop management skills and industry knowledge.

- Experience in team management or leadership in a customer-facing environment.
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service with measurable results.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to forecast targets and generate reports.
- Effective communication skills and confidence in delegating tasks.

- Proficiency in IT (Excel, MS Office) and familiarity with cinema technology (Till points, ticket scanners, etc.).
