Our client, a high-growth, mid-sized Telecoms software business supplying a complex portfolio of BSS solutions (billing, self-service, interconnect, inventory, charging, etc.), is looking to expand an exciting suite of B2B software products to the telecoms market. You will accelerate the migration of our enterprise suite of software to containerised environments.

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical knowledge and product management skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional teams and understand the broader business impact of the migration. This role requires real-world experience in leading similar projects within the enterprise software space.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of migrating existing telecom BSS software to containerised environments.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure best practices in container development, deployment, and management are followed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and business units, to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Manage the project lifecycle, including defining project scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the migration process, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing business operations.
  • Conduct performance assessments and scalability testing to ensure the robustness of containerised applications.
  • Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders, presenting project progress, addressing challenges, and proposing solutions.
  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap for the containerisation project.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in containerisation technologies, recommending enhancements and continuous improvements.
Required Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with a focus on technical projects and software migration.
  • Proven experience in migrating enterprise software to containerised environments.
  • Strong knowledge of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.). OpenShift a plus.
  • Experience of telecom BSS software a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications in product management and/or containerisation technologies are a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and related design patterns.
  • Understanding of security best practices in containerised environments.
  • Excellent English, verbal or written, if not your first language.
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent), minimum of 2:1 in Marketing or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
