Role Purpose:
As Supply Chain Manager - UK Supply Chain Planning, you will be responsible for the planning, development and delivery of the United Kingdom (UK) Procurement and Supply Chain (P&SC) strategy. Leading the relationship with our key Customer Great British Nuclear (GBN) and acting as the primary interface. Working with the wider Procurement Teams ensuring commodity, partnership and operational strategies to meet customer requirements and deliverables.
Overview of key responsibilities and required experience:
- Managing a UK strategy that supports delivery of our key Business and P&SC Strategy Team objectives.
- Driving performance and monitoring the key performance indicators associated with Customer Satisfaction and delivery of Customer specific in-contract performance measures.
- Planning and implementing strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and commitments as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrable knowledge of typical customer requirements to support delivery of localisation and Economic Value targets.
- A deep knowledge and understanding of supply chain management including knowledge of the nuclear market (UK and International), codes and standards, accreditation and regional economics.
- Ability to monitor industry trends and emerging supply chain issues to ensure appropriate actions to mitigate risk to business delivery are in place.
- Author P&SC procurement and contracting strategy deliverables to GBN on a periodic basis.
- Ability to work cross functionally to ensure delivery of targets and goals.
- Working closely with GBN and their third party Project Management organisation.
- The ability to present and influence in this customer environment is required to ensure achievement of UK strategy goals and deliverables whilst managing this key relationship.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills will be required as will the ability to travel within the UK to effectively manage these external stakeholder relationships.
- Proficient in writing clear, structured documents, emails and reports to convey complex, sometimes commercially sensitive information.
- Understanding of the P&SC Supply Chain Overarching Strategy as well as a strong grasp of the individual commodity & partnership supplier selection programmes to ensure that GBN deliverables, as per the project delivery programme, are achieved.
- Ability to identify the opportunities, manage the risks, and implement changes within this key customer environment without any detrimental impact on the organisation.
Mandatory Experience, Training Or/and Qualifications:
- Experience in a Purchasing Role
- Proven experience managing UK and International external Customers
Beneficial Experience, Training Or/and Qualifications:
- MCIPS preferred
- Training or qualifications in any nuclear industry related courses would be an advantage i.e. Mechanical codes and standards, ISO

Pay And Benefits:
We anticipate paying a salary of between £57,600 - £75,600 DOE plus:
- Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
- Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
- Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
- Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
- Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
- Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
- £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
