We are looking for passionate entrepreneurs to join us on our mission to create a zero carbon, zero bill, zero friction future for our customers. Our internal venture studio is where we turn ground-breaking ideas into reality. We are not just building ventures; we are shaping a sustainable energy future. We are seeking experienced founders who thrive on taking risks, embracing the unknown, and making a real-world impact.

Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:

  • 0-1 new venture creation: Identify, validate, and develop innovative energy propositions with the potential to disrupt the energy industry.
  • Build and iterate experiments and roadmaps: Rapidly learn from ideas to gather customer feedback and demonstrate traction.
  • Engage with customers: Conduct customer interviews, analyse user needs, and validate product-market fit.
  • Develop robust business models: Define and refine business models, including conducting thorough TAM, SAM, and SOM analysis to estimate market potential.
  • Manage ROI: Develop financial projections, track key metrics, and optimize ROI throughout the venture development process.
  • Establish and grow strategic partnerships: Collaborate with startups, technology providers, and research institutions to accelerate development.
  • Champion your vision: Present learnings and secure funding and resources to bring your ideas to market.

  • Early stage startup experience: You’ve taken an opportunity from ideation to reality, acquiring real customers and iterating based on their feedback.
  • Excellent communications, stakeholder management and matrix management skills: You understand the challenges of building something new and are passionate about creating solutions that people love.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: You can identify market opportunities, analyse complex situations, and develop innovative solutions to overcome challenges.
  • Experience with lean startup methodologies, agile development, and human-centered design: You’re familiar with rapid prototyping, user testing, and iterative development processes.
  • Roadmap expertise: You can effectively prioritise tasks, create product roadmaps, and manage competing demands to deliver results efficiently.
  • Strong financial acumen: Including experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and managing budgets.
  • Proven ability to conduct customer research: Gather insights and translate user needs into product requirements.
  • A self-starter: With a bias for action and a relentless focus on achieving results.

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience in the energy sector or other highly regulated industries such as healthcare or banking.
  • Been a founder or one of the first few employees of a startup.
  • Experience of working with a Local Authority.
  • Experience of working as an innovator in a large corporate body.
  • Experience in pitching for funding at early stages (Seed or Series A).

  • 12 month fixed term contract.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Location - London / Coventry with travel to our other sites when required.
  • Working environment: Flexible hybrid working - a blend of in the office and home working.
  • 26 days holiday plus bank holidays each year - this includes a guaranteed day off for your birthday if you want it.
  • Generous pension scheme (you contribute 5%, we contribute 6%, increasing to 10% after 2 years).
