We are looking to recruit for our Groundworker Apprenticeship for our September 2025 intake, and we are looking for candidates who live in and around the Bicester area to join our gangs who live locally to the area.
The Apprenticeship will take around 2 years, and is a mixture of working on site and College based practical and theory learning, covering topics such as bricklaying, drainage, concreting and pipe-laying. You would be working to achieve a Level 2 NVQ in Groundworks.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated candidates, who are looking at starting or progressing their careers within Groundworks. You will be allocated an experienced mentor within an existing Groundworks gang who you will work alongside on our sites to gain site based experience, along with the College based learning and covering all aspects of Groundworks. You will either have weekly day release or block release to College as well as working and training on our sites. Our gangs are multi-skilled, and usually work on our sites that are predominantly within the water industry. Usual daily tasks will include pipe-laying, concreting, ducting and deep drainage.
The apprenticeship is a fully funded course, and you will also receive competitive apprenticeship rates of pay and a competitive employment package. Full training is provided, and will initially include a full company Induction and completion of CSCS touch screen and Health & Safety training, Manual Handling, Working at Heights and National Water Hygiene.
During the Apprenticeship you will complete further training within Plant and core skills training to work towards becoming a General Operative once you have completed your Apprenticeship. A driving license is essential.
