Description Summary: Manages and oversees all aspects of moderately complex projects to ensure they are completed on-time and within budget. Has overall responsibility for managing scope and schedule, as well as interfacing with internal and external resources in support of cross-functional teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for large projects or multiple tasks within functional discipline
- Contributes to their team by applying their knowledge of discipline
- Works with moderate guidance on projects with short-term focus
- Has a solid understanding of the fundamentals of the discipline and role – continuing to develop specialized knowledge
- Coordinates internal resources and external resources for execution of projects
- Ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
- Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Ensures resource availability and allocation
- Develops a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
- Manages changes to the project scope and project schedule using appropriate verification techniques
- Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
- Reports and escalates to management as needed
- Contributes to creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation
- Meets with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
- Tracks project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
- Develops comprehensive project plans to be shared with management as well as other staff members
- Attends conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency
- Develops spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
- Prepares and completes action plans
- Implements production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
- Resolves problems, completes audits, identifies trends, determines system improvements, and implements change
Scope: Requires knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills. Builds knowledge of the organization, processes and customers. Solves a range of straightforward problems. Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
Education and Experience: BA/BS degree w/2–5+ years’ experience or MA/MS degree w/0–2+ years’ experience.
