Due to ongoing growth, our Knightsbridge based Dispatch team are now looking for a Nightshift Manager to join them. You will manage a team of up to 15 including Assistant Managers, Team Leaders and Warehouse Operatives. Delivering the highest packing standards and the timely delivery of all orders purchased within the best luxury department store in the world is no small ask, and it is the proud responsibility of our Dispatch team to achieve this excellence every day.
At the heart of the operation is the Manager role; a high energy, people-centric position within the team which drives our ambition forward.
About The RoleYou will be the first point of contact for the Dispatch department in this key role in our business, from organising deliveries of all sizes across different countries, dealing with customs and liaising with our internal drivers, no day will be the same as you navigate the exciting challenges that lie ahead.
Whilst your main focus will be leading your team, being on the ground, getting to know their strengths, training and developing them to flourish, you will also have the opportunity to optimise and innovate our existing processes and will be vital in helping us take things to the next level, this is a place where you can really make an impact and your ideas will be truly valued and listened to.
You must be able to work Monday-Friday 11pm-7am on our night shifts.
- Be a present, proactive and driven leader to your team of up to 30, lead from the front with a clear focus on leading and training your team to deliver excellence.
- Monitor Van fleet delivery routes and reporting, check driver productivity and take necessary follow up action when required (further training or disciplinary).
- Monitor parcel volumes for all areas and productivity per head.
- Ensure QC checks are carried out and issues dealt with.
- Recruit all staff and ensure they have attended the Store induction programme and completed company training on Manual Handling, Administration & Record Keeping.
- Identify non-performing staff and take appropriate action i.e. additional training/disciplinary discussions.
- Organise rotas and ensure that there is optimum staff coverage for the department.
- Keep accurate records and monitor productivity on delivery figures, ensuring all deliveries are scanned and received on SAP Systems and that all systems are operating smoothly (computers, printers, scanners, driver handsets, IShipper).
- Communicate and liaise with other Distribution & Warehousing functions to ensure collaborative working practices.
You will have experience leading a large team in an operational environment, and beyond that we are completely open. Whilst having experience in a picking, packing and delivery environment will help you hit the ground running quicker, the focus is on finding a great leader to take our team forward and full training and induction will be provided.

- Ideally have experience in a similar operational environment- e.g Retail, Distribution, Warehouse, Logistics, due to the manual nature of our operation.
- A manager who spends regular and good quality time at the front of the operation with your operatives and team leaders.
- Strong communicator- you are able to really get to the heart of the challenges, issues or problems that an individual or team are facing.
- Have a strong HR policy awareness and will enforce and refer to this to ensure we operate what is right for our people at all times.

- Demonstrate resilience – this is key, and your calm approach and level thinking are valued.
