This recruitment is for multiple positions and shifts located throughout the State of Maryland. Social Worker I, Health Services Court Involved (CI) is a professional clinical social work at the intermediate level providing direct social work services to clients in a special population in a health setting. The work involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities. The nature of the work may require evening and weekend hours. Work is performed in hospitals, residential facilities, clinics or local health units.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.
- Experience: Two years of experience rendering clinical social work services in a health care or treatment setting subsequent to the receipt of an approved Masterβs degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university. Note: Candidates may substitute Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal / Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Social Work classifications or Social Work specialty codes in the Social Science, Psychology, and Welfare field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Candidates must be licensed as a Certified Social Worker or Certified Social Worker, Clinical by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners prior to appointment to a position in State service. Applicants who do not have a license may also apply pending receipt of the required license. When the license is obtained, submit a copy to the Maryland Department of Health Testing Unit.
- Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess an appropriate operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
