Birdworld is on the lookout for a Play Barn & Catering Team Leader to join our team and help deliver joyful, high-quality experiences across our catering outlets and new indoor Play Barn.
About the Role
As Play Barn & Catering Team Leader, you’ll be at the heart of our guest experience. You’ll lead a team of enthusiastic Assistant Team Leaders and Guest Service Assistants to ensure our catering operations run smoothly and our Play Barn remains a lively, safe and welcoming space for young explorers. From leading and developing the team, managing rotas, monitoring and adhering to health and safety to developing seasonal menus and greeting party guests and coordinating party events – this is a varied and rewarding role perfect for someone who’s as organised as they are playful.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, inspire and motivate your team to deliver excellent customer service and hit performance targets.
- Manage catering operations across the park, including stock control, food safety, compliance and rotas.
- Oversee the Play Barn – ensuring health and safety compliance, cleanliness, equipment checks, and a great experience for all visitors.
- Play a key role in events, party hosting, and seasonal activities.
- Handle and seek guest feedback with confidence and positivity.
- Continuously improve the food and play offering through innovation and collaboration.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in a leadership role within hospitality, catering, or visitor attractions.
- A confident, approachable manner and the ability to lead by example.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A positive, proactive mindset with a keen eye for detail.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety legislation.
- Level 3 Food Safety qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- First Aid at Work (or willingness to undertake).
- Requirement to undergo a DBS check.
- Flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays and adapt to business needs.
