Waking Night Support Worker (Recovery) – Banbury Lodge, Oxfordshire

£12.60 per hour • 43.75 hours per week on rolling 2 week rota • Shifts: 19:30 – 08:00 • Week 1: 3 nights • Week 2: 4 nights

Main Responsibilities

  • Offer advice, information, and support to clients, including referrals for aftercare focused on maintaining an abstinent lifestyle.
  • Assist Therapists with risk management plans and reviews.
  • Ensure clients follow program rules, supporting the manager in investigating breaches, including substance testing.
  • Conduct intakes, assessments, and discharges efficiently.
  • Keep accurate client records and maintain databases.
  • Facilitate transfers between agencies and services for clients.
  • Support clients with medication reminders, conduct audits, and maintain accurate records.
  • Work with clients to create recovery plans that are realistic and achievable.
  • Help clients attend external appointments in line with their care plans, providing transport support or accompanying them as needed.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations, helping clients manage practical aspects of daily living such as life skills, housing, and benefits.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively on your own.
  • Strong negotiation and boundary-setting skills.
  • Ability to create and review risk management plans.
  • Empathy and a non-judgemental, calm approach.
  • Capacity to handle high-pressure situations.
  • Great customer service skills.
