We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Instrument Technician to join our team on a contract basis. This role will support field operations within an oil & gas or petrochemical plant environment, contributing to commissioning, maintenance, and operational readiness of instrumentation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems
  • Support field operations, including commissioning, loop checks, and functional testing
  • Troubleshoot and resolve faults on a wide range of field instruments
  • Complete all relevant technical documentation and site paperwork accurately and on time
  • Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, industry standards, and hazardous area regulations
  • Assist with shutdowns, start-ups, and other time-critical site activities

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within oil & gas or petrochemical plant environments
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation systems, loop drawings, and control systems
  • Hands-on experience with field commissioning, loop checks, and instrument diagnostics
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety

Desirable:

  • CompEx certification (Hazardous Area Equipment) - preferred but not essential
  • Familiarity with industry-standard documentation and QA/QC processes
