Position: Assistant Headteacher – Pastoral Lead & SENDCo
Location: Church Fenton, North Yorkshire
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, term time
Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum DOE

About the role:
You will lead in meeting the emotional needs of our students, working with families and developing pastoral support programmes. Your goal is to create a positive learning environment where every student can reach their potential.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience in therapeutic educational or residential settings.
- Experience working within a multi-agency approach.
- Experience working with children involved in social care.
- Experience in delivering training, leadership, and team management.
- Strong understanding of attachment and loss.
- Therapeutic training or qualifications.
- Psychological or counselling courses are desirable.
- Energetic, creative, empathetic character.
- Full driving license.
- Experience in group work and assessment in intervention.
- Understanding of health, safety, and wellbeing responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate interventions and act as a link between clinicians and the educational team.
- Manage risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
- Support positive behaviour and crisis management.
- Develop and deliver training on supportive interventions.
- Conduct staff debriefs and incident reviews.
- Teach SEMH/PSHE as needed.
