We are currently looking for a Building and Fire Safety Coordinator to join One Vision Housing, part of The Sovini Group.

As a Building and Fire Safety Coordinator, you will be expected to:
- Assist the Building Safety and Compliance Manager (BSCM) to ensure building and fire safety management arrangements are in place for relevant buildings, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and safety standards.
- Ensure effective consultation and communication with residents on building and fire safety matters, and to assist in the implementation of the resident engagement strategy.
- Ensure building and fire related projects are overseen for quality assurance purposes.
- Carry out planned and reactive inspections and assessments to ensure building and fire safety measures are in place and the general upkeep of communal/landlord controlled areas are maintained.
- Commit to the CIH 7 Professional Standards of Conduct in your day-to-day activities.
- Commit to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
- Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.
To be successful in a Building and Fire Safety Coordinator role, the skills you will need:
- Carrying out fire safety audits and inspections.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of improvement plans.
- Managing and working with contractors, consultants and external enforcing authorities.
- Developing successful relationships to achieve challenging targets.
- Assisting with fire safety programmes and projects.
- Experience of working with IT systems, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
- Assisting with monitoring systems to assess and manage risk.
- Knowledge of fire safety within social housing, including Government and industry guidance, British Standards, Building Regulations, and the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Clear understanding of risk management and compliance.
- Ability to work under own initiative, effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks to fixing and exacting timescales.
- Ability to manage people, communicate clearly and effectively to all levels, including customers, consultants, contractors and employees.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Full driving license and use of a car for work purposes.
- Ofqual regulated CIH (3,5,7) Qualification or the commitment to work towards.
- Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email.
Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:
- NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management OR equivalent.
- Relevant fire related qualifications.
- Relevant building, maintenance, compliance, or facilities management qualification OR equivalent.
- A track record of building management and fire safety within the social housing sector.
- Managing and maintaining detailed building safety information.
- Carrying out fire door inspections.
- Knowledge of building construction and maintenance industries.
