Overview

An exceptional and modern Chartered Accountants is on the lookout for a NEW Tax Manager in one of their offices in Maidstone. The purpose of this position will be to look after a varied portfolio of more complex tax clients, offering a range of advisory and planning services; whilst supporting less experienced but still perhaps qualified members of the team. This role is Monday-Friday 37.5hrs. Salary is dependent on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed.

Duties

  • Manage a portfolio of personal and trust tax clients
  • Prepare and review complex personal tax returns, including those involving inheritance tax (IHT), capital gains tax (CGT), and trust structures
  • Provide bespoke tax planning advice or strategies to clients
  • Assist clients with CGT planning, including main residence relief, business asset disposals, and property transactions
  • Oversee and support junior staff with training, technical guidance, and file reviews
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted adviser and first point of contact for tax matters
  • Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients in relation to enquiries, disclosures, and other correspondence
  • Work closely with partners and directors on more complex planning assignments and business development opportunities

What we're looking for

A successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate strong prior UK Practice experience with exposure to duties named above and be at least ATT qualified or higher.
