We are seeking an experienced BTEC Tutor to support the delivery of our BTEC Engineering training to apprentices at our state-of-the-art training hub in Aston. The post holder will need to have a good grounding in delivering across the level 3 BTEC engineering qualification.
The post holder should have broad experience in the engineering/manufacturing sector, be confident in collaborating with employers and other members of the Make UK team, and be able to support apprentices to deliver to their potential.
Key responsibilities:- To teach across a range of BTEC level 3 units
- To model delivery excellence and professional working behaviours
- To manage and oversee the progress and achievement of the Engineering Project for apprentices
- To coordinate effectively with external delivery team members
- To provide a range of support techniques to learners who require additional support to enable them to achieve
- To support the development of course materials including handouts and reference materials to support topic delivery
- To deliver training to apprentices and staff to ensure all Awarding Body and Centre requirements are met and standardized
- To create a motivational learning environment by providing stimulating and demanding subject delivery that allows learners to acquire the skills and knowledge required
- To assess learners' progress by various means of assessment and provide progress feedback and reports to learners and managers, including identifying learners at risk
- To ensure learners, colleagues, and employers receive timely, accurate, and constructive feedback on learners’ achievement, progress, and areas for development
- To maintain learner discipline in compliance with the Centre’s Disciplinary codes and practices
- To ensure the health and safety of learners and staff
- Relevant level 4 subject qualification or higher
- Level 3 or higher teacher training qualification
- Empathy with young people, ability to plan, deliver training and assess outcomes
- Logical approach to problem solving
- Good presentational and communication skills, literate and numerate
- Ability to motivate and command learner respect
