We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 6 Class Teacher to join a friendly and hardworking school for two days a week to cover maternity leave from September 2025.

The Role: You will be responsible for teaching a well-established Year 6 class alongside an experienced parallel teacher, planning and delivering high-quality lessons that support progress as the children prepare for secondary school. This role requires strong classroom presence, excellent subject knowledge—particularly in English and maths—and the ability to hit the ground running.

Please note: this post is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

  • Has QTS and experience teaching in upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and a strong understanding of end-of-key-stage expectations
  • Is confident in delivering SATs preparation in a supportive and effective manner
  • Is flexible, collaborative, and able to work well as part of a team
  • Has a commitment to inclusion, wellbeing, and raising standards for all learners
