Meraki Talent are working with a mid-sized investment manager to help them identify an Enterprise Risk Manager. Reporting into the CRO your duties will include:
- Lead the ICARA process ensuring all documentation is updated and submitted for review/approval by the appropriate committees.
- Maintaining and assisting with the development of the risk management framework/policy and operational risk policies.
- Ensuring risk appetite is well understood and embedded within the business.
- Training the business on the operational risk policies.
- Collation of the outputs of the framework e.g. RCSA’s, risk events, KRI’s to present a coherent view of risk to senior management.
- Oversight, challenge and management of risk events, including adequate documentation, ensuring lessons learned are embedded into the 1st line of defence process improvements on an ongoing basis.
- Management of the framework for tracking governance, risk and compliance actions, ensuring periodic reporting on timeliness of completion to senior management.
- Maintain detailed, working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements pertinent to the operation of effective systems and controls, including SYSC, SMCR and outsourcing.
- Ensure timely and effective reporting on operational risk matters to committees, in line with committee terms of reference.
- Undertake review and approval of certain projects where there is a high degree of operational risk, e.g. change/addition of new outsourced provider.
We are looking for:
- Ideally Investment management experience within an operational risk role/Enterprise risk management.
- Experience supporting firm-wide projects and identification of risks within a project.
- Holds knowledge of regulatory requirements within the UK Financial Services markets.
- Has experience and knowledge of risk management concepts, methodologies and practical implementation.
- Brings hands-on experience of an operational risk role, within an FCA-regulated Investment Manager.
- Previous line management experience is preferred.
- Holds a professional qualification in Risk management from the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) is desirable.
Hybrid London based 1 or 2 days in the office, this is a 12 month fixed term contract.
