A well-established engineering company based just south of Cambridge is looking for a Senior DSP and Communications Engineer to join their specialist team. The business delivers advanced telematics and tracking solutions for use across insurance, law enforcement, OEM, fleet and consumer markets.
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the design and development of a cutting-edge distributed RDF system, with a focus on SDR and DSP technologies. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and technical specialists on a high-impact programme that combines RF engineering with digital processing and algorithm development.
The Role:
You’ll take the lead on designing high-performance SDR and hybrid analogue/SDR systems. Responsibilities include developing DSP algorithms for signal search and identification, optimising receiver performance in noisy environments, and working on the end-to-end design from concept through to deployment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong experience in both analogue and digital aspects of receiver design
- A deep understanding of SDR architecture, DSP theory, and RF signal processing
- Hands-on experience with tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, VHDL, or Verilog
- Familiarity with FPGAs and implementing DSP algorithms in embedded systems
- Knowledge of radio propagation, interference mitigation, and system-level testing
- At least 10 years’ experience in DSP, RF, and communications system development
- Degree or HND in Electronic Engineering, Communications, or a related discipline
What’s on Offer:
- A technically challenging, meaningful role with real-world impact
- Supportive working environment with a focus on professional growth
- Flexible working arrangements and a healthy work-life balance
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
- Regular team events, both on-site and off-site
