You will have a significant influence on how you want your experience and expertise to develop, and you will be strongly encouraged and supported to get involved in business development work, taking an active role in seminars and networking events, in addition to drafting monthly articles for publication.
The Civil Litigation - Contentious Probate Team is led by Partner, Andrew Chandler who you will work closely alongside Partner, Robert Weston, Associate Solicitor, Victoria Wall and our Legal Secretary team Sarah Bone, Caroline Harvey and Pam Davies who are all based at our Kidderminster office. The wider Civil Litigation team also operates from mfg’s Worcester, Birmingham and Bromsgrove offices.
Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:
This is an exciting opportunity for a solicitor with 1 year of post-qualification experience (PQE) to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking law firm.
Key Responsibilities:- Managing a caseload of civil litigation matters including: Will challenges, Inheritance claims, Executor disputes and estate administration issues
- Drafting legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and witness statements
- Providing clear and practical legal advice to clients at all stages of litigation
- Liaising with clients, counsel, experts, and other third parties
- Support Partners to devise strategies for achieving client goals
- Support in negotiations with opposing counsel and parties
- Participating in business development to assist with firm growth initiatives
- Proven interest or experience in contentious probate work and/or 1 year PQE in Contentious Probate
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong client management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a supportive team environment
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload with supervision
- A client-focused approach and commitment to delivering high standards of service
