We are currently working in partnership with a public sector organisation based in Wolverhampton, who are recruiting for a Head of Risk & Business Continuity on an initial 6-month contract, with the potential to go permanent. They are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, and are offering a daily rate of circa £250 - £350 p/day, via an Umbrella company, but this can be negotiable. This is a hybrid role, and will require 3 days per week in the office.
The ideal candidate will have experience implementing and developing frameworks, and liaising with senior stakeholders at executive and board level. Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Managing the risk management, business continuity and operational resilience support for the organisation, and leading the development, implementation, coordination and management of its risk management and business continuity programmes.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining the Business Continuity framework, the Major Incident & Emergency Planning framework, and the Risk Management framework, working with Senior level stakeholders at Executive and Board level to embed these frameworks.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements, providing effective challenge and input to key stakeholders, and working with senior colleagues to ensure delivery of the framework.
- Developing and delivering training on business continuity and risk management and their associated frameworks.
- Ensuring that the Risk and Business Continuity frameworks are aligned with and complement the overall governance and compliance framework of the organisation.
- Leading on major incident internal reviews, including report preparation, and ensuring that actions are completed.
Experience required:
- Experience of risk and business continuity frameworks, ideally within the public sector.
- Experience of supporting colleagues with regulatory compliance requirements.
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Strong communication skills, able to liaise with stakeholders of all levels.
- Strategic thinking.
Working hours: 37 hours per week Monday – Friday, can be flexible with start & finish times.
