Your Role

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll lead the full lifecycle of earthing design projects from inception through to completion. You’ll be a trusted technical expert, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and delivering technically demanding HV earthing projects independently
  • Managing client relationships and ensuring project delivery is aligned with technical and commercial expectations
  • Mentoring and supporting Design, Assistant and Graduate Engineers
  • Conducting advanced earthing studies using CDEGS software (MALZ, MALT, RESAP, HI-FREQ, FCDIST, TRALIN)
  • Leading site-based engineering assessments and investigations
  • Reviewing and authorising reports and drawings, offering high-level feedback
  • Chairing design meetings with internal teams and external clients
  • Advising on complex studies including impressed voltage and lightning protection assessments

  • Demonstrable experience in HV earthing design, ideally in the power or utilities sector
  • Strong working knowledge of the CDEGS suite and complex earthing assessment methods
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust with clients and colleagues alike
  • Proven ability to lead technical design teams and support project delivery end-to-end
  • A hands-on, proactive attitude and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions
