One of our leading NHS clients is looking for experienced mental health nurses to cover shifts in community hospitals in the South West.

Provide community mental health nursing within HMP Birmingham prison, contributing to the wider mental health services for those experiencing serious and enduring mental illness, symptoms of personality disorder, and acute phases of illness. This includes needs-led interventions, referrals, and liaison with other agencies both within and outside the prison environment.

Conduct risk assessments and develop care management plans to identify and minimize potential harm to both staff and prisoners.

Ensure effective and integrated working with prison staff and other MDT professionals, including social care providers, chaplaincy, specialist services such as probation, forensic mental health services, and drug workers.

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualification and NMC PIN
  • Experience of working in a secure setting
  • Previous experience of working in a prison
  • Qualification or experience in delivering Trauma-Informed Care
