Due to ongoing demand, we have an exciting opportunity to join our team in Glasgow as a Maintenance Manager. As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within the manufacturing facility. This leadership role ensures that equipment and infrastructure operate at peak efficiency, minimizes production downtime, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. The Maintenance Manager will lead a small, but skilled team, working collaboratively with production and engineering to support operational goals in efficiency, safety, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop the maintenance team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Plan and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to ensure the reliability and availability of equipment via deployment of a CMMS system.
- Ensure all plant equipment, machinery, and infrastructure are maintained in optimal operational condition.
- Respond promptly and effectively to equipment failures and breakdowns, minimizing downtime and production disruption.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and capital projects.
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes to ensure timely availability and reduce equipment-related delays.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, documentation, and performance reports.
- Develop, manage, and control the maintenance department’s annual budget, including labour, materials, and overhead expenses.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and internal standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of recurring equipment issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role within a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical expertise, particularly in CNC machinery, lathes, mills, hydraulic systems, and other production equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing technical team.
- In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and communication abilities.
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) (preferred).
- Familiarity with PLCs, automation systems, and control circuits (an asset).
