Our client is a specialist design and build contractor working at the forefront of the UK water industry. Known for their technical excellence, innovation, and environmentally focused approach, they are proud to partner with the UK’s leading water companies on their most challenging AMP8 programmes.
We are currently seeking an experienced Principal Electrical & ICA Engineer to join a national Engineering Team. With flexible hybrid working and multiple office locations to choose from, this is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious engineer to help shape the future of water infrastructure.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) design for water and wastewater projects.
- Ensure that work meets all technical, quality, safety, environmental and legislative standards.
- Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams, project stakeholders, supply chain partners, and clients.
- Produce high-quality design deliverables, including calculations, reports, drawings and construction-ready documentation.
- Apply and promote standard design practices across projects.
- Contribute to positive Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) outcomes.
- Support continuous improvement and drive innovation.
- Provide mentoring and performance development to junior team members.
- Gain hands-on experience with commercial, programme and financial project matters.
About You
You will bring both technical expertise and leadership capability to the role. You’ll be passionate about working on projects that have a real-world impact and be driven to deliver the highest standards of engineering.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) or similar.
- Proven experience delivering design and build solutions in the water or process industry.
- Strong communication and coordination skills across disciplines and with stakeholders.
- Experience with BIM-led design and digital tools such as Revit or Plant 3D.
- Working knowledge of British Standards and UK industry codes of practice.
- Familiarity with water industry client requirements is highly desirable.
- A full UK driving licence (or ability to travel) is required, including to remote sites.
