We are working in partnership with a local authority in Hampshire to recruit an experienced Environmental Protection (EP) Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and respond to statutory nuisance complaints in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Investigation of statutory nuisance, drainage, public health and other service requests and taking appropriate enforcement action where required.
  • Examining and commenting on the environmental health implications of planning, licensing, minerals and waste and Part A1 Permit applications.
  • Undertake a range of general EP duties to support the delivery of high-quality services.

About You:

You will have a minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in Environmental Protection within a local authority or similar setting. While a formal qualification (e.g., EHO) is not essential, relevant experience and a strong track record in statutory nuisance and planning consultations is required.

Contract Details:

  • Full-time: 37 hours per week
  • Initial contract term: 4 months, with potential for extension
  • Competitive hourly rate: Starting at £40 per hour (via Umbrella), negotiable depending on qualifications and experience
  • Hybrid working model: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote
