About the Role:

We are looking for a talented Robotics Research Engineer to join a dynamic team at the forefront of robotic manipulation. This role emphasises the development of advanced algorithms and models to enable dexterous manipulation, with a focus on robotic hands and fingers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct cutting-edge research in robotic manipulation, focusing on dexterous tasks such as grasping, in-hand manipulation, and tactile interaction.
- Develop and evaluate algorithms for control, perception, and planning in robotic manipulation systems.
- Apply reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and other machine learning techniques to improve robotic dexterity.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate research outcomes into real-world applications.
- Design experiments to validate research findings, leveraging both simulated environments and physical robotic platforms.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in robotics, publishing research and contributing to the scientific community.
Ideal Candidate:
Education:
- PhD or Master’s in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field, with a focus on robotic manipulation or dexterous systems.
Research Expertise:
- Experience in robotic manipulation, especially using advanced robotic hands and fingers.
- Strong background in reinforcement learning, imitation learning, or other data-driven approaches for robotic control.
- Proficiency in motion planning, perception, or multi-modal sensing for manipulation tasks.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in programming with Python and C++.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with simulation tools like ROS, Gazebo, Isaac Gym, or Mujoco.
- Knowledge of tactile sensing and its application in manipulation is a plus.
