Job Description
Percival are excited to be working exclusively with HideOut Youth Zone to help them recruit for a new Youth Work Manager (senior sessions) to join their vibrant and dedicated team.
Empower Youth Zones is the charity that oversees the creation, management and sustainability of both HideOut in Gorton, Manchester, and Salford Youth Zone (SYZ) in Pendleton, Salford.
Open 7 days a week, the Youth Zones offer a free hot meal and over 20 activities every night for just 50p per visit for young people aged 8-19 and up to 25 with additional needs. Their incredible facilities include a 3G pitch, climbing wall, gym, sports hall and recreation area, and dance, arts, music, and media suites.
Job Title: Youth Work Manager, Seniors
Reports to: Head of Youth Work & Partnerships
Salary: £27,824 – £28,500
Working Pattern: Full Time, Permanent. Rota basis 5x per week, including some weekends.
Location: HideOut Youth Zone (Gorton, M12)
The Youth Work Manager, Seniors is a lead member of the delivery team. You will work across Youth Zone sessions and have lead responsibility for the Senior Club offer for ages 13-19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs), ensuring there is a high-quality, creative and fun offer, which focuses on the needs of young people. You will be leading a team of incredible Youth Workers to achieve this as well as being responsible for the continuous improvement of the delivery with input towards HideOut's strategic delivery plan. This is a fun, exciting and challenging role in a growing, ambitious charity where with up to 200 young people attending a session no two days will ever be the same.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Prior experience leading sessions or activities to young people aged 13+
- Managerial experience
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and have led on safeguarding in sessional work.
- Strong project management experience through organising and coordinating a programme of activities for young people.
- The ability to motivate and engage staff, volunteers and young people through sessional work, acting as a role model and ambassador for HideOut.
- An understanding of the challenges faced by young people with a passion for supporting their futures.
