We are recruiting on behalf of a long-standing client of our looking to make additions to their Land Acquisition / land buying team.
Our client is a pro-active developer with a substantial pipeline of projects across Utility Scale Solar / BESS. They also have another arm of the business that focusses on acquiring land for Data Centers, and Property Development across the UK.
Previous land acquisition/buyer experience within these sectors would be great, but not essential.
What we are looking for is a go-getter who wants to do deals and find land. Happy to be on the phone or online meetings, and getting out to meet clients, find sites and meet landowners around the UK is actively encouraged.

The Role
The Land Consultant is responsible for researching land, finding landowner details, and making direct contacts with landowners.
The Land Buyer reports to the Land Director
Key Responsibilities
- Site finding and identification of rural or residential led development opportunities across the UK;
- Establish effective working relationships directly with landowners and land agents;
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with landowners and land agents;
- Prepare concise assessment of land for development including feasibility and assessing the planning credentials of any site;
- Work closely with the land director to conduct land appraisals to determine the value of any potential development land;
- Prepare land offers that meet the requirements of the business;
- Prepare and produce due diligence and Heads of Terms;
- Maintain and manage the land list and take an active role in the land department; and
- Liaise with our planning team and external consultants to ensure the successful delivery of applications and decisions.
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Experience
- 2 years’ experience of working as a Land Buyer; and/or
- 2 years’ experience of working as a land agent or estate agent;
Qualifications and Training
- A-Levels or equivalent
- Property related degree
- RICS or RTPI is desirable
Skills and Aptitude
- Be proactive, eager, and hungry to buy land;
- Be a self-starter with energy and enthusiasm;
- Effective interpersonal skills;
- Works collaboratively as part of a team;
