A leading name in the luxury hospitality industry is seeking a Compliance and Privacy Counsel to join its growing team. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, this role will play a key part in continuing to build and implement a robust data privacy program, while embedding privacy by design into day to day operations across the business.
In addition to driving privacy, you will support broader compliance efforts, ensuring the business meets its statutory and regulatory obligations as well as fostering a culture of good compliance across the international organisation. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with an experienced Head of Compliance across both privacy and compliance in a complex, international fast-paced environment.
With fairly new offices in central London, this is an opportunity to surround yourself with experienced colleagues, foster your professional development, and contribute to a high-performing culture. Due to the nature of the role and the fact many of the strategic stakeholders are based in London, we expect a hybrid model (three days per week in the central London offices) to be most appropriate for this position.
This is a well established consumer facing business that operates in a diverse number of jurisdictions and is therefore an exciting opportunity for a compliance and privacy professional looking to take the next step in their career as part of a high-calibre team. This is an opportunity to take a leading role in developing frameworks but also business opportunities within data privacy, to closely support an experienced and well regarded Head of Compliance on a broad range of compliance (and sector specific compliance) issues and in addition to work closely with senior stakeholders across the business from day one.
There is further opportunity to have some involvement in wider Corporate Governance and Company Secretarial matters (prior experience in the latter is not essential but interest in further developing some of this expertise too would be an advantage).
On top of a sector competitive base salary, the compensation package will include: bonus, private healthcare, life insurance, 25 days of annual leave, and enhanced pension contributions (7% employer / 2% employee). A significant additional benefit that all employees enjoy is a programme of complimentary stays, experiences and significant discounts for family and friends on luxury holiday experiences and stays.
For guidance purposes only (DOE), a combination of base and bonus will afford a package value in excess of £100,000.
To be successful in this role, you will already have strong experience in data privacy and compliance, ideally within a multinational organisation. The role will require regular interaction with senior stakeholders and running your own workload so those with strong skills not only understanding and implementing privacy and compliance policies but also adequately communicating and implementing these within the business will be essential.
As this role sits firmly within the legal function, qualified Privacy & Compliance Counsel/Associates are encouraged to apply (for guidance purposes you’re likely to have 3-5+ years PQE) however those coming with equivalent experience do not need to be legally admitted. What matters most is strong technical capability in both Privacy and Compliance and a willingness to get involved in other areas (such as wider corporate governance) as needed.
