The Role

As a Facility Operator, you will provide support to the various projects run from the Gosport site, a state-of-the-art Marine Technology facility containing some of the most unique hydrodynamic test facilities in Europe. Day-to-day, you will ensure the safe delivery of hydrodynamic test programmes, undertake planned and reactive maintenance of the capabilities as well as take responsibility for the delivery of reliable test data.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • The safe operation of all facility equipment
  • Managing all aspects of the rigging and conducting of experiments in the facilities
  • Undertaking daily safety / maintenance checks on the facilities
  • Providing support to colleagues and clients on aspects of the operation of the facility to deliver experiments in the facilities

Essential experience of the Facility Operator:

  • Mechanical Engineering experience to perform maintenance of facility equipment and rigging of models
  • Previous Experience in a similar industry / field

Our facilities at the Haslar Marine Technology Park are state-of-the-art, including our ocean basin rotating arm, and marine towing tank, offering an unparalleled environment for testing and refining designs. Our marine technology offers our global customers a service to deliver constrained hydrodynamic model tests of surface ships, submarines, offshore structures, and renewable energy devices.
