About the role

This apprenticeship follows the Embedded Electronic Systems Design and Development Engineer (Degree) Standard, and leads to roles including designing and developing electronic circuits, devices, and systems. As an Electronic Design Apprentice, you will spend your initial training at the Skills Academy producing several electronic projects to develop your skills and knowledge in basic electronic theory, components, basic circuit design, circuit construction and reporting. You will then complete a variety of 6-month placements with us. During this time you will also attend college part-time to complete your HND. On successful completion of your HND, in your final 2 years you will spend your time on further placements around the business, where you will also work towards your Apprenticeship End Point Assessment (Degree phase). Throughout your apprenticeship you will attend several lectures designed to further increase your knowledge and understanding of electronic theory. These include:

  • Circuit calculations
  • Semi-conductor theory
  • Fault-finding techniques
  • Testing and measuring

Requirements

  • HNC (level 4) in Electronics.
  • 5 GCSE's at grade 4/C or above including Maths and English
  • Applicants must be aged 18 or over, as of 31st August 2025 due to security clearance requirements
  • You must be a British National to apply for a role with us.

A starting salary of £22,250 yearly, increasing annually throughout your apprenticeship. Market leading contributory pension scheme.
