If you’re thinking of becoming an Engineer and are a care leaver then consider joining Ontic as an Engineering Technician Apprentice. This apprenticeship offers a competitive starting salary and as a care leaver you will be eligible to receive a bursary to supplement your salary and support independent living.

So what does an Ontic Apprentice do? Whilst working for Ontic and gaining hands-on experience you’ll work towards completing either a Level 3 or 4 qualification, building a solid Engineering foundation and developing a range of knowledge and practical skills. You’ll spend your first year at Gloucestershire Engineering Training (GET) to support your on the job training, and then join the business full-time in years 2 & 3.

What will you need to apply?

  • To join us on a Level 3 Apprenticeship: 5 GCSE's or equivalent, including Maths & English at a level 4 or above or be predicted to achieve this.
  • To join us on a Level 4 Apprenticeship: An existing Level 3 qualification in Engineering OR A-Level Maths and Physics at grade C or above.

You’ll be an enthusiastic individual, who likes to work in a busy, hands-on environment; is driven and committed to learning and developing.

How long is the Apprenticeship? Between 24 and 42 months; dependent on course level.
