Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (06:30 - 14:24), could be required to work 1x weekend day, compressed hours or seasonal hours.

At Totally Local Company, an opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Operative 2 who possesses a professional demeanour, sound judgement, and integrity to join our Street Care team.
What you’ll be doing in this role:
- Cleansing: Undertake cleansing duties allocated by the supervisor in accordance with agreed procedures to defined standards. Perform tasks related to the cleanliness of the environment, including sweeping, cleaning, litter picking, emptying litter bins, removing weeds and debris, cleaning road signs and litter bins, and removing graffiti or offensive material when required.
- Grounds: Carry out general maintenance in green areas, highway verges, landscaped and planted areas, council properties, recreation areas, cemeteries, schools, and public amenities, including high-profile lawns, turf, and horticultural features. Perform operational duties such as hand weeding, weed spraying, mowing, pruning, hedge cutting, planting, seeding, turfing, and bedding setup according to design specifications. Erect, dismantle, and maintain recreational and sports facilities, including goal posts and markings.
- General: Participate in winter maintenance duties like manual gritting, grit bin management, and snow/ice clearance. Assist in waste recycling efforts. Work as part of a team, reporting to a supervisor. Adhere to safety policies and conduct safety checks on equipment. Operate mechanical equipment including gardening tools, street cleansing machinery, and power washers. Perform daily checks, cleaning, and report defects on equipment. Report environmental issues and maintain records as required. Represent the company professionally at all times. Undertake training for skill development and gain experience across various sections.
