About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our Major Projects team, delivering key highways infrastructure schemes across the Milton Keynes network. You’ll play a critical role in leading and managing the operational delivery of medium to large-scale highway projects—ensuring works are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with budget, quality, and environmental targets.
As Project Manager, you’ll oversee the planning and execution of site activities, engage with clients and stakeholders, manage commercial outcomes, and support our teams to deliver successful projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the safe delivery of all site operations, promoting a safety-first culture.
- Ensure compliance with company safety targets, audit requirements, and undertake investigations as necessary.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling and resource allocation to deliver projects on time and to budget.
- Track and manage financial performance using weekly cost and value reports.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal teams.
- Prepare and manage project documentation, work applications, and operational reports.
- Actively monitor team performance, identify training needs, and support development of operational staff.
- Implement and promote the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) and EFQM principles.
- Champion continuous improvement and positive staff morale across the team.
- Contribute to business plan objectives and KPIs including DSO, safety performance, invoicing, and client satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in managing highways or infrastructure projects of significant scale.
- Strong leadership and operational planning skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent understanding of project management methodology, financial reporting, and health & safety standards.
- Experience working with public sector clients or on term maintenance/highways frameworks desirable.
- A collaborative mindset with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- SMSTS or equivalent health and safety qualification preferred.
