Survitec, the world's largest survival technology provider, is looking for a Lead Service Technician to join our Southampton operations team. This role plays a dual function - delivering hands-on servicing of marine safety equipment and providing leadership, coaching, and operational oversight to a small team of technicians. You will help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while supporting our continuous improvement culture.
Key responsibilities for the Lead Service Technician role include but are not limited to:
- Open, inspect, test, weigh, repack, and label life-saving equipment including liferafts and first aid kits.
- Perform maintenance, installations, and repairs of Survitec safety equipment in accordance with quality and safety procedures.
- Diagnose issues and carry out emergency repairs and preventative maintenance inspections.
- Write detailed reports on inspections and tests, submitting for administrative processing.
- Support the testing and setup of new or complex systems within your competence level.
- Follow stores requisition procedures to maintain stock levels and records accurately.
- Lead daily work allocation and support the Service Operations Manager with site opening/closing and safety checks.
- Provide on-the-job coaching, skills development, and assessments for team members.
- Help set monthly schedules with the Service Operations Manager to ensure resource planning.

About You:
- Proven hands-on experience in servicing or maintaining equipment, preferably within liferaft operations or related safety systems.
- Demonstrated leadership capability through previous experience in a senior technician or team lead role.
- Strong attention to detail, with effective communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and the flexibility to travel as required by the role.
- Willingness to obtain rope access certification, if not already certified.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, consistently meeting operational targets.
