The predicted salary is between 31200 - 46800 £ per year.

The Power System Technician will provide a technical engineering service with the minimum of supervision in respect of mechanical & electrical servicing, repairs, maintenance, supervision and installation.

Location: This role is based in around North East England.

The role:

  • Reporting directly to the team manager, the Power Systems Technician will be part of a multi-skilled team covering the North East England service area.
  • Respond to faults in a timely manner and complete corrective maintenance on a range of systems to meet our Customer Service Level Agreements.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance in line with Arqiva standards, policies and procedures.
  • Support upgrades and modifications to existing systems and networks following agreed instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation and reporting of actions taken.
  • Available to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ensure that equipment operates to specified performance criteria.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained to conform to agreed company standards.
  • Engage with customers and build positive working relationships.
  • Undertake contractor supervision duties as required, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.
  • Participate in 24/7 365 callout response as per the scheduled rota.
  • Work safely, complying with current Health & Safety legislation and Arqiva Safety policy.
  • Be willing to learn new transmission skills, with an option to train to climb to progress to climbing role.
  • Role includes lone working in remote locations.

Qualifications:

  • A valid driving license.
  • Time served electrician (NVQ 3 & AM2).
  • City & Guilds 2382 - 18th Edition Regulations.
  • City & Guilds 2391 - Inspection and Test or 2394 & 2395 Verification & inspection testing.

Required Expertise:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in an electrical maintenance role.
  • Minimum 2 years experience conducting EICRs.
  • Experience with fault finding and diagnosis.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and schematics.
  • Working knowledge of BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations.
  • Experience working on three phase equipment and systems.
