The Power System Technician will provide a technical engineering service with the minimum of supervision in respect of mechanical & electrical servicing, repairs, maintenance, supervision and installation.
Location: This role is based in around North East England.

The role:
- Reporting directly to the team manager, the Power Systems Technician will be part of a multi-skilled team covering the North East England service area.
- Respond to faults in a timely manner and complete corrective maintenance on a range of systems to meet our Customer Service Level Agreements.
- Carry out preventative maintenance in line with Arqiva standards, policies and procedures.
- Support upgrades and modifications to existing systems and networks following agreed instructions.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation and reporting of actions taken.
- Available to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team.
- Ensure that equipment operates to specified performance criteria.
- Ensure equipment is maintained to conform to agreed company standards.
- Engage with customers and build positive working relationships.
- Undertake contractor supervision duties as required, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.
- Participate in 24/7 365 callout response as per the scheduled rota.
- Work safely, complying with current Health & Safety legislation and Arqiva Safety policy.
- Be willing to learn new transmission skills, with an option to train to climb to progress to climbing role.
- Role includes lone working in remote locations.
Qualifications:
- A valid driving license.
- Time served electrician (NVQ 3 & AM2).
- City & Guilds 2382 - 18th Edition Regulations.
- City & Guilds 2391 - Inspection and Test or 2394 & 2395 Verification & inspection testing.
Required Expertise:
- Minimum 5 years experience in an electrical maintenance role.
- Minimum 2 years experience conducting EICRs.
- Experience with fault finding and diagnosis.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and schematics.
- Working knowledge of BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations.
- Experience working on three phase equipment and systems.
