Mechanical Engineer role in Bury St Edmunds
Salary: £48,000 – £50,000

Responsibilities:
- Perform corrective and preventive mechanical maintenance
- Perform repairs of production and processing equipment as well as utility related equipment
- Support the installation of new equipment
- Ensure all repairs are documented
- Responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and neat work area
- Complete all paperwork neatly and correctly
- Participate in BOPEX (continuous improvement) program
- Comply with all procedures, regulations and policies applicable
- Stop and report unsafe operations and use mandatory PPE as defined
- Offer flexibility in working hours subject to business needs
Ideally we are looking for someone with:
- The successful candidate will have completed their NVQ Level 3 engineering apprenticeship mechanically biased
- Experience working in heavy plant environment (approx. 5 years +)
- Experience working on PLC and SCADA control systems (Mitsubishi, Siemens, Rockwell and Fanuc)
- Work experience in a FMCG environment (food and beverage would be an advantage)
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques is preferred
- Food Hygiene certificate
- Clean driving license
Working Hours:
- Mon Start: 2 Days 06:00 – 18:00, x2 nights 18:00 – 06:00, 5 Days off
- Wed Start: 2 Days 06:00 – 18:00, x3 nights 18:00 – 06:00, 4 Days off
- Fri Start: 3 Days 06:00 – 18:00, x2 nights 18:00 – 06:00, 5 Days off
